With Chinese New Year upon us, the mighty Tiger is all set to reign supreme for the entire duration of 2022.

Considering that the Tiger brings with it both negative and positive influences, how will this affect the property market?

Feng Shui master Jessie Lee recently shared her insights on what the year 2022 holds for people, revealing what’s in store for the property market and sharing tips on how to manifest positive energy in your home.

What’s ahead in 2022?

Lee said she believed 2022 will be a year of strong energy that’ll lead to drastic changes, movements and more uncertainty.

Having said that, she also believed that not all is gloomy – there are plenty of opportunities for those who are prepared and willing to take action and face the Tiger head-on.

“Overall, the astrological pictorial image of the year is water and thunder. Imagine fine weather followed by sudden strikes of lightning and thunder,” she illustrated.

As such, people are advised to tread carefully and be conscious of what they are doing, make informed decisions instead of react emotionally to circumstances or make decisions based solely on the fear of missing out.

“2022 is a year signifying a new start – just like a seed starting to sprout. There’s definitely growth but this requires time and patience,” she said.

She advised against rushing things as small sprouts must be handled with care. She also warned that carelessness and greed will be a failing factor this year to those who are impatient.

Metal energy is the weakest (non-existent) among 2022’s overall energy. Metal in Chinese Metaphysics represents power, discipline, control and action.

“We can say that generally people will feel disempowered, lacking in action (living a life of reaction rather than taking proactive action) and discipline or suffer from a feeling of losing control.

What this means is the high possibility of facing issues and problems beyond your control. For example, new rulings from the government, raising of interest rates etc, which will impact the overall economy,” she explained.

Home buyers can look forward to better bargains or deals on their property purchases in 2022.

Property market will remain weak

Lee observed that property which falls under the earth element is weak this year. Therefore, the property sector will not be experiencing much growth except for selected industrial estates or factories which might have higher demand.

Overall, offices and commercial property will be facing a tough year. For homebuyers however, good news awaits.

“As the market is weak, it also means homebuyers will have the privilege of enjoying better bargains or deals on their property purchases. Look out for new developments that will probably offer better deals,” she said.

South sector of our homes need attention

Moving on to discuss Feng Shui principles inside the home, Lee advised that it was best to redecorate your home in a more bright and positive way since this year will affect most people emotionally.

She advised on using brighter décor, emphasising on lighting. She also said placing plants or flowers inside the home would help one stay positive, bright and hopeful.

The bright décor, ample lighting and potted plants can have a positive effect on one’s subconscious and help uplift one’s mood and emotions.

She said to pay special attention to the South sector of the home as it is important to attract both wealth and success.

“Ensure that the South sector of our home is bright and spacious. Make sure this area is uncluttered and if there’s window here, open the window to ensure good ventilation and to maximise sunlight.

For those who aim to enhance relationships and connections with others in their lives, place a water-based plant or a vase with four stalks of flowers or bamboo stalks at the Southeast sector of your home,” she said.
