The Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2019 is set to exclusively market affordable properties priced below RM300,000 in the upcoming 3-day HOC 2019 event this 4th – 6th October 2019 happening at Nu Sentral, Kuala Lumpur.
During the HOC pre-launch at KL Sentral last week, KPKT minister YB Zuraida Kamaruddin said that this is the first time that HOC will be introducing homes priced at RM300,000 and below. They’re targeting at least 80% of sales from the units at RM1.6 billion. Also present at the event were the Deputy Minister of KPKT, Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah and its Secretary-General Mohammad Mentek.
Visitors will be able to choose from a total of 10,577 units affordable units priced below RM300,000 at the expo. 7,177 units will be showcased by private property developers while 3,400 units will be from government agencies.
Zuraida added that representatives from banks will also be present at the event to help interested buyers in handling loan applications. She noted that applicants were not able to obtain approval of loans from the banks even with the price of a house at People’s Housing projects being at RM45,000 a unit.
‘’HLGM’s effort now is to find ways how to help the B40 and M40 groups to be considered for bank loans for their houses. We are still working on it,’’ she said.
HOC 2019, which offers stamp duty exemption and minimum 10% discount on all properties, has been extended till 31st December 2019 from the previous 6-months period.
